I have an DSC PC1555 control panel and a LED5116 keypad.I want to get rid of the wireless (900 MHz) sensors and install new hardwired door sensors and glass breaks. I think I have the ability to add up to 8 hardwired sensors with my current system.I know very little abut this stuff and can use some help on the next steps -1, Where can I get compatible door sensors and glass breaks for this system?2, How do I wire these to my control panel?3, How do I reprogram the system for the hardwired sensors and get rid of the existing wireless sensors?4, Any advise on who I can use to monitor my system? Thanks!!
All of the necessary materials are available from homesecuritystore.com (the host of this forum). First you should download and read the installation manual for your system from this web site. It will have all the information on wiring and programming.

After you have done that, if you need it you can surely get help on specific questions from the great people who contribute to this forum. You should also search this forum for information on monitoring. There was a great posting lately on that topic, which outlined the differences between each type of service company that is available.Good luck! Update - purchased the door and glass break sensors and they have arrived. I installed one of the door sensors in the door jam and ran the wire to the control panel in the basement. Sat back and read the PC1555 installation manual but it looks like one of those manuals that after you know what your doing it will all make sense. The system currently has 4 wireless and no hardwired devices. I want to eliminate 3 wireless and add 5 hard wired.
I've removed all of the wireless sensors from the doors at that point and will be putting one wireless door sensor back.I could use help with the next steps-1, Change the programing to eliminate 3 wireless sensors.2, Hard wire in the new door sensor to the control panel. (Looks simple - 1 wire to any Z and one wire to any COM terminal, but want to check first)Thanks.

(Looks simple - 1 wire to any Z and one wire to any COM terminal, but want to check first)Thanks. 1 - To remove wireless device. 8 Installer Code 804 ZZ 000000 #Installer Code = once entered LCD will displays (Program) or LED will display Armed LED.red.ZZ = Two digit zone number. 10,11,etc.# = Exit Programming (when your done removing wireless devices. Press it till your get back to the ready state.green led.)Ex. To remove wireless device - zone #2:.
8 Enter Installer Code 804 02 000000 #Ex. To remove wireless device - zone #12:. 8 Enter Installer Code 804 12 000000 #Also, check your zone attributes for your new hardwired devices.
8 Installer Code 1 +ZZ 8 #Installer Code = once entered LCD will display (Program) or LED will display Armed LED.red.ZZ = Two digit zone number. 01,02,03.08. Pressing the keypad number '8' will toggle the wireless option on/off (LCD displays zone attribute options at top.
The attributes that are on will be displayed as that number. In this case were looking for whether the number '8' is displayed or not.) (LED keypad will light up the numbered zone LED to tell you which zone attribute options that are on. Look to see if zone #8 LED is on/off).ON (LCD - Displayed) = Wireless Device. Ignores the main control board zone and responds to the corresponding zone enrolled on the PC5132 module (which could be integrated into your keypad).OFF (LCD - Not Displayed) = Hardwired Device. Ignores the PC5132 module and uses corresponding control panel hardwired zones.Just make sure your new hardwired devices have zone attribute 8 turned offEx. Check Zone Attribute - zone #5:. 8 Enter Installer Code 105 (if On press '8' to toggle off.
Then press '#' to exit)Ex. Check Zone Attribute - zone #11:. 8 Enter Installer Code 111 (if On press '8' to toggle off. Then press '#' to exit). Also, you can't have a wireless device and a hardwired device on the same zone.2 - Yeah.
One wire goes to the corresponding zone terminal on the control panel and the other goes to any COM terminal (Only if your using the System Option - Normally Closed Loop. Remember to add your 5600 ohm EOLR ).Just something extra.
Zone attribute option 3 sets whether the zone will chime or not. Since these are door contacts that bit of information might come in handy.Ex.
Check Zone Attribute - zone #6:. 8 Enter Installer Code 106 (press '3' to toggle on/off.
Then press '#' to exit)Ex. Check Zone Attribute - zone #1:. 8 Enter Installer Code 101 (press '3' to toggle on/off. Then press '#' to exit)Here's some more chime information is you feel the need. 8 Installer Code. ZZ 1-4 #ZZ = ZZ = Two digit zone number.
(zones with door contacts)1,2,3,4 = differents chime types (fun to play with).Ex. Change Chime of Zone #1. 8 Installer Code. 01 1 #Ex. Change Chime of Zone #4.
8 Installer Code. 04 3 #.4 = toggles the keypad chime on/offHope that helps you out. Great instructions.thanks.Was able to remove all the wireless device's as you instructed. Hardwired the first door sensor into the control panel (Z1,COM) and the number 1 light is now on on the keyboard. However, the 'trouble' light is also on.Checked the trouble condition (.) (2) and zone light 8 is on. Zone light 8 is 'loss of time on system clock'To reset time and date. Instructions say - enter (.) (6) (installer code) (1) and the system will accept 10 digits (representing time and date.1530 071309)However, after I enter (.) (6) (installer code) (1) I can only enter three numbers (153) and I get a 2 sec beep stopping me.Any ideas?
Forgot to add this. When installing hardwired sensors. Check your System Options:. 8 Installer Code 013 1-8Ex. 8 Installer Code 013 1.Zone Loop Option.Ex. 8 Installer Code 013 2. End of Line Resistor.Check these two options.1 - Zone Loop Type (On/Off)On = Normally Closed Loop - means there's not a EOLR (End of Line Resistor) required.Off = End of Line Resistor - means you need a 5600 ohm resistor on the COM terminal (either at the sensor or at the control panel before it terminates onto the COM).If you've wired up your new hardwired door sensor on Zone #1 without a resistor.
Just make sure you have System Option 1 turned ON so it's not looking for a 5600 ohm resistor on your hardwired zones.2 - End of Line Option (On/Off)On = Double End of Line Resistors - simply put, you have a resistor in series (just like the End of Line Resistor) and you also have a resistor parallel across the loop (basically a resistor bridged across the Z terminal and COM).Off = Single End of Line Resistor - you have a resistor in series with the loop and it's between the COM of the sensor and the COM on the control panel. Where you place the resistor is really personal preference but it's recommended to be at the sensor (makes the control panel wiring look much neater this way).So in a nutshell. If you have System Option #1 set to off. Then make sure you set System Option #2 to off (simplest method). As for setting system time & date. 6 Installer Code 1 hh mm MM DD YY #(Time is Military or 24 Hour)hh = 2 digit military hour (00 - 24)mm = 2 digit minutes (00 - 59)MM = 2 digit month (01 - 12)DD = 2 digit day (01 - 31)YY = 2 digit Year (00 - 99)Ex. (4:45pm July 13 2009) =.
6 Installer Code 1 #Ex. (12:52am May 7 2009) =. 6 Installer Code 1 #Ex. (11:08pm Oct 29 2009) =.
6 Installer Code 1 #Ex. (9:35am March 7 2009) =. 6 Installer Code 1 #Ex. (12:00pm Aug 12 2009) =.
6 Installer Code 1 #Ex. (2:02am Dec 25 2009) =. 6 Installer Code 1 #What you have looks right. 3:30pm July 13 09.
And those numbers are valid entries. Not sure why it would stop you unless you were in another mode and wasn't aware of it or just hit a wrong key (it happens). The three numbers and then a stop seems like is was looking for a zone entry or something else instead of a 10 digit time and date entry. My advice would be to hit the # key a few times to make absolutely sure you're out of program mode and try again. What you have is correct and should work. Here's how an LED keypad will beep.
6 Installer Code 'double beep' 1 'double beep' 'double beep' #If all else fails. DSC PC-LINK-9PIN - Computer Interface makes programming the control panel so much easier (beats punching on a keypad but it's nearly as impressive to watch. That will make things easier.
But you need to turn System Option 0131 ON so the control panel isn't looking for resistors and the trouble light will go out and zone #1 & #2 will turn off when the contacts are closed and work happily ever afterI see from a previous post I made a typing mistake and accidentally typed OFF when I should have type ON. Sorry about that (brain thinks one thing and fingers type the other. Oops ). 8 Installer Code 013 1 LED 'ON'. For no resistor install.
